CAPS: Guests at Washington Capitals April 5 Game

Chef Spike Mendelsohn was rocking the red on Thursday night at Washington Capitals game. Based on his tweets, he had a wonderful night. In addition to riding on the zamboni, he met Red Rockers.

Champion Figure Skater Michelle Kwan was in Owner Ted Leonsis’ suite during the game and when spotlight was on her, she cheered for the Caps.

Washington Capitals prospect goalie Philipp Grubauer was at the Capitals game as well, with his hand in a cast. Grubauer recently had surgery on his right hand and is out for the season.

The rookie has shined for the South Carolina Stingrays this season as he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week (October 31-November 6), ECHL Goaltender of the Month (November) and the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month (January).

Depending on Neuvirth’s injury, Grubauer could have been used during the playoffs. Unfortunate injuries strike again. Best of luck to Gru in his recovery.
