Caps Practice Update & Audio: Green Says He’s 100 Percent

ARLINGTON, VA–The Washington Capitals held one last day of informal practices today before training camp starts at 10:30am tomorrow at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Brooks Laich, Marcus Johansson, Mike Ribeiro and Braden Holtby were the only Caps not to skate today.  Mike Green returned to the ice after after having Lasik eye surgery two days ago.

“I had a blurry puck, so I need to see it clearly,”  Green said.

Green is very excited to learn the new system.

“In the dressing room there’s this atmosphere all the guys are like little kids right now ready to go play. Adam’s brought that positivity up.

We’re excited. We’re like a sponge right now, ready to absorb all the information we can and we’ll go from there.”

Green said he’s been 100 percent for “probably about a month ago”.

All these informal practices aren’t mandatory.

Tom Wilson is expected to travel to DC today after having a goal and an assist in an OHL game last night.  Wilson is expected to join the team for training camp tomorrow.

Wojtek Wolski joined the team for the first time today after driving from Toronto yesterday.

Wolski said he had Starbucks with Adam Oates in Toronto during the summer before the lockout and is looking forward to learning more.

Listen here to what Mike Green and Wojtek Wolski had to say following practice today.
