D.C. United in the Community: La Barra Brava to host mini-golf outing at H Street Country Club

As D.C. United has found success on the field in 2014, the club and its supporters continue to do good work in the community, as well. On Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the H Street Country Club in Washington, D.C., La Barra Brava will host the sixth annual Barra Mini-Golf Classic. La Barra Brava is a supporters club that has been backing the club since its beginning in Major League Soccer.

Proceeds from the event benefit United for DC, the Charitable Arm of D.C. United (www.unitedfordc.org) and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society of the National Capital Area (www.lls.org/aboutlls/chapters/nca). The event begins at 5 p.m. and will feature a raffle, Happy Hour, games, and D.C. United players will participate in the golf event. Tickets are $10, and will be available tonight at RFK Stadium’s Lot 8, at the Barra Brava tailgate. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.barra-brava.com, and at the door the evening of the event.

Among the raffle prizes are a signed United jersey and memorabilia, music memorabilia from Travis McNabb (Better than Ezra, Sugarland), four suite tickets to a Washington Wizards game, a Wizards “broadcast experience” with team radio voice Dave Johnson, a signed Washington Redskins jersey, gift certificates and cookies from Kendra’s Cookies, and more.

Joining La Barra Brava in sponsoring the event are the H Street Country Club, Corona Beer, D.C. United, Contemporary Services Corporation, The Screaming Eagles, Keep D.C. United, and Nealon & Associates.

United is in action tonight at RFK, for an 8 p.m. kickoff against Tauro FC as group play continues in the CONCACAF Champions League. United need only a point tonight to clinch first place in the group.
