Espinosa named to Topps Rookie All-Star Team

Washington Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa was named to the Topps Rookie All-Star team, the Nats announced Wednesday morning.  Espinosa hit .236 with 21 home runs and 66 RBIs in 158 games and was sixth in balloting for MLB Rookie of the Year.

Espinosa joins Ryan Zimmerman (2006), John Lannan (2008), and Stephen Strasburg (2010) as honrees.

Strangly, though fellow rookie Wilson Ramos garnered more votes for ROY than Espinosa did, he did not make the Topps team, losing out to J.P. Arencibia of Toronto.

District Sports Page joins Nats fans in congratulating Danny Espinosa on this achievement.
