WIN 90! The Washington Nationals magic number is now 9.
The Nats defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 in game one of the doubleheader Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
Roberto Clemente Day was celebrated during game one of doubleheader and Ryan Zimmerman was honored on the field before the game for being named Washington Nationals’ nominee for the 2012 Roberto Clemente Award.
In a nutshell: Jordan Zimmermann pitched six sold innings, Bryce Harper’s fearlessness as a base runner continues to pay off, Danny Espinosa makes another Gold Glove caliber play and Tyler Clippard earned his 32nd save of the season. It was a picture perfect day for baseball, as well as Gio Gonzalez’s birthday. You can read DSP’s game re-cap here.
Here are a few photos of Wednesday’s game one with descriptions under pictures. All photos were taken from the stands. Click here to see the fan photos for Gio’s birthday. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments! Thanks.
