Maryland Basketball: Terps put a statement win on their resume by beating the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes

Having already lost to North Carolina and Michigan State, the Maryland Terrapins were running out of chances to put a win against an elite team on their tournament resume. Enter: the hottest team in America, the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa had great matchups with Jarrod Uthoff and Peter Jok, which meant the Terps had to bring their A-game, even at home.

Maryland did an “unbelievable” job on defense, according to Mark Turgeon, and that was the difference in the game when they could not continue their hot start. The efficiency from Robert Carter Jr. and Rasheed Sulaimon carried Maryland to a 74-68 victory over the Hawkeyes.
