Washington Redskins: Gruden and Cousins talk improvement, while DeSean Jackson says all the right things

Everyone knows what is on the line Saturday. Win and the Washington Redskins are hosting a playoff game, probably against Seattle again, for the second time in four years. DaShon Goldson knows how important it is to maintain control of one’s own destiny, so he organized a pre-practice team huddle to get things off on the right foot. Following one of only two practices in the shortened week, head coach Jay Gruden, quarterback Kirk Cousins, and ex-Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson addressed the media.

The theme of Gruden’s presser was all about improvement. On the defense, Mason Foster and Will Compton have “played well together” and Preston Smith has gotten off the ball better with speed and aggression. On offense, Gruden called the connection between Kirk Cousins and Jordan Reed a thing of beauty because the latter is playing “with a lot of confidence” while Kirk has a “great feel for him [Reed].”
